This experience and savvy is committed to shaping the vision for the next level of MMO gaming globally, and creating a successful and sustainable business venture.
Vice President & General Manager
Jeff is a veteran interactive entertainment executive having led some of the most successful game development studios in North America. He was the General Manager at Ensemble Studios, GM and Producer of Papyrus Racing Games and President and Executive Producer of Iron Lore Entertainment. Hit franchises that Jeff has worked on include Age of Empires with over 15 million units sold, NASCAR Racing, Titan Quest and Dawn of War. Jeff’s accomplishments include helping to position Ensemble Studios for a profitable Microsoft buy-out, turning around a negative earnings studio and leading Iron Lore Entertainment to receive the best new studio award by the IGDA. Jeff is the Vice President and General Manager of Tencent Interactive Entertainment Division’s Boston Studio and is responsible for growing and overseeing this studio and its products.
Art Manager
Chris is a 14 year veteran of the game development community. He was traditionally trained as a graphic and industrial designer. Chris has previously held the position of Art Director for EA Sports (Electronic Arts Canada) working on franchises such as NBA Elite (formally NBA Live), NCAA Basketball, and Madden. Chris was also a co-founder of Red Eye Studios acting as general manager and art director. He successfully grew the company from 2 artists to nearly 30 employees comprised of modelers, lighters, animators, and programmers over a 6 year period.
Technical Director
Paul Chieffo has 25 years of development and business experience. In 1994, Paul co-founded Amber Wave Systems, a computer networking company. He helped to grow the company to over 20 people, acquired venture capital funding, and successfully sold the company to U.S. Robotics. Paul continued at U.S. Robotics, where he spearheaded their drive into the switching marketplace. He was designing the next generation of switching products, when U.S. Robotics was acquired by 3Com. At 3Com, Paul was promoted to Director of Technology where he was responsible for delivering a suite of high volume, advanced networking products. While at 3Com, Paul received three patents for advanced technologies. Paul was a founding partner of Iron Lore Entertainment and the Technical Director for the company. He led the development of the Iron Lore’s cutting-edge and fully featured game engine. He also contributed directly to engine development, writing most of the multi-player and networking code. At Tencent Boston, Paul is responsible for leading the programming team in China and the US to develop the technical foundation for our leading edge games.
Senior Producer
Michael is an experienced project leader, a veteran of both development and publishing. In his relatively brief nine years in the industry, he has worked as a designer on the wildly successful Clancy franchise and served as a specialist in original IP projects for Ubisoft. Most recently, at THQ as a Director of Creative Management, Michael was responsible for a portfolio of titles across all platforms involving both original and licensed IP. Having worked with over a dozen studios and performed due diligence evaluations on over a dozen more, Michael brings to the Tencent Boston family a thorough understanding of production best practices and a broad vision of the path to AAA success.
Marketing Director
Steven’s career spans two decades with global technology and media companies serving entertainment and technology industries as a marketing and product management leader. Products and services he has worked with include 3D modeling software, application middleware, content delivery services, premium online, casual and kids' games. He is a veteran of online gaming with accomplishments that include launching the first PC game online distribution platform by a major US Internet portal, and being a founding member of the IGDA Casual Games SIG. Steven is responsible for the marketing, PR, community and partner relations for the studio in North America, and their alignment with corporate strategy in China and worldwide.
QQ Three Kingdoms is a 2D side-scrolling casual MMOG developed by Tencent. Based on the story of the Three Kingdoms, players experience familiar historic stories within the new casual MMOG experience of this game.
